DUTIES AND TAXES
Duties and Taxes Policy
At FABER, we are committed to providing a transparent shopping experience for our customers, especially when it comes to duties and taxes associated with international orders. Here’s everything you need to know:
Understanding Duties and Taxes
When you order jewellery from FABER and have it shipped internationally, you may be subject to customs duties and taxes imposed by your local government. These fees are separate from the price of your jewellery and shipping costs.
- Duties: A duty is a tariff or tax imposed on goods when they are imported into a country. The amount varies based on the item’s value, type, and country of origin.
- Taxes: In addition to duties, some countries charge sales tax or value-added tax (VAT) on imported goods.
Who Is Responsible for Duties and Taxes?
- International Customers: FABER does not collect duties or taxes at checkout for international orders. Therefore, customers are responsible for any applicable customs duties and taxes upon delivery.
- Local Regulations: The amount you owe will depend on your country’s specific regulations and may vary based on the total value of your order.
How Are Duties and Taxes Calculated?
The calculation of duties and taxes can vary widely by country. Generally, the customs authority in your country will assess the following factors:
- Value of the Goods: The declared value of the jewellery you purchased.
- Type of Goods: Different types of goods may be subject to different duty rates.
- Country of Origin: The country where the jewellery is manufactured can also impact the duty rates.
To get an estimate of potential duties and taxes, you can consult your local customs authority or use online calculators that provide estimated duties based on your order’s value and country.
Delivery and Customs Clearance
Once your order arrives in your country, it will go through customs clearance. This process can take some time, and you may be contacted by your local customs office if additional information is needed.
- Delivery Delays: Please be aware that customs processing may cause delays in delivery. FABER is not responsible for these delays, as they are beyond our control.
Important Notes
- Refused Shipments: If you refuse to pay duties and taxes upon delivery, your order will be returned to FABER. In such cases, we cannot refund the original shipping costs or any duties and taxes incurred during the return process.
- Gift Orders: Duties and taxes may still apply to gift orders, as they are assessed based on the recipient’s location.
